Welcome Dayton!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Dayton joined the Col. Potter family Saturday, after spending a month in a shelter. Poor Dayton was a victim of the economy. His family lost their home, and he could not go with them. Dayton was so scared in the shelter that they knew he would not be adopted as he cowered and shook whenever new faces appeared at his kennel door.

We were lucky once again, very kind shelter workers arranged to get him to a vet for us. This allowed us to get him out of there very quickly once we were notified.

The vet tech caring for him has been wonderful. Initially, when he entered Dayton's kennel, Dayton ran to the other end and shook. Johnson sat down and spoke softly to him, and held out his hand. After a while Dayton got up the courage to come over and sniff a bit, and get some love. He saw he was safe with Johnson, and climbed into his lap. This boy was just so scared, and confused, wondering how in the world he ended up in such a place as a shelter! Once he felt safe, his charm came out. Johnson said he is a gorgeous boy, and very sweet.

Thank you Col Potter, for being a safe haven for Dayton and kids like him.

WELCOME Dayton!
