Aubrey Finds a Safe Haven at Col. Potter!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Aubrey, a sweet approximately 5 year old Wheaten Female

Please welcome little Miss Aubrey to Col. Potter……

Aubrey was found as a stray by a young woman.  She was a matted mess and covered with fleas.   The young woman took her to a vet for a microchip scan and quick check-up and then posted her on Craigslist, looking for a new home or rescue for her.   The vet exam revealed she was heartworm positive and it was recommended that the growth on her gums be removed and biopsied.   The young woman could not afford the recommended procedures, and was very thankful when the Col. Potter Rescue Team contacted her offering our assistance.

This little girl is estimated to be 5 years old and weighs 13 lbs.   Our vet removed the mass and sent it out to pathology.   However, he feels it maybe a benign growth called an Epulis -- but the report will tell us for sure what it is/was.   And her confirming heartworm test indicates she’s a Stage 1.

Aubrey is reportedly very friendly, housebroken, and good with other dogs!

Please think good thoughts for this little girl for a good pathology report.   AND, if you can help with the costs of Aubrey’s surgery and heartworm treatment, please send a donation to:
