Tarquin Gets Fitted for a New Coat at Col. Potter!

Written by a CP Intakes Coordinator

Tarquin, a sweet approximately 5 year old Wheaten Male

Please welcome our newest Col. Potter boy – Tarquin!   His name was donated through our Name a Rescue Cairn Program by the Board of Directors in honor/memory of CP friends Lee and Scott Juslin's Wheaten Scottie boy who passed March 2014 after a valiant fight against cancer.

Our little Tarquin was picked up as a stray by a very busy animal control shelter.  They contacted Col. Potter to see if we could take him.  Fortunately we could!   He’s estimated to be 5 years old and weighs 19 pounds.  While roaming the streets, he picked up a few fleas which caused severe itching due to an allergic reaction.  He scratched or chewed off much of the fur on his back end and developed a skin infection.  The shelter got rid of the fleas and the vet started him on antibiotics.  With the loving care in his Foster Home, we expect to see his lovely red wheaten coat fully covering his body someday soon.

Tarquin is recovering from a severe allergic reaction to fleas and will have his beautiful coat back soon!

Welcome Tarquin!
